Definitions

In an effort to give you the best service possible, we want to help you understand the coverages available in an automobile insurance policy.  We hope this description of coverages will assist you in making decisions on the types and amount of coverage you need.  Please remember that all coverages are subject to policy conditions, limitations and exclusions.

Liability Coverages:

Bodily Injury:   Provides coverage up to policy limits if you cause an accident that injures someone else.  This coverage is required by state law in minimum limits of $15,000 per person/$30,000 per accident.  Commercial auto minimum limits may vary.

Property Damage:   cover up to policy limits for damage you cause to another person's car or property.

Medical Payments:   pays for medical bills up to the specified policy limit for this expense.

Uninsured Motorist: Covers bodily injury claims when injuries are caused by an uninsured motorist.

Underinsured Motorist:   Covers claims for bodily injury which have exceeded the bodily injury coverage limits of the at-fault motorist.

Personal Property Coverages:

Comprehensive:   Covers your vehicle for theft, vandalism, fire or other damage subject to the stated deductible.

Collision:   Covers damage to your vehicle in an accident subject to the stated deductible.

Alarm Systems:

Active:   You have to set the alarm manually

Passive:   The alarm sets itself when you close the doors.
